Thanks to all supporters volunteers and contestants for making Cinco de Miro:Maximum Ballroom a success for the 4th year in a row! Congratulations to the unstoppable Deb Lane for a 2nd year as Top Fundraiser and Audience Choice, performing with Miro’s Paul Struck. Three cheers for first timer Raquel Leonard, for taking the Judges Award with a perfect score, dancing with Miro friend Raphael Xavier!

Recently, MIRO was mentioned in thINKing Dance by 2011 Cinco de MIRO contestant Kilian Kroll. Cinco de MIRO 2012 is rapidly approaching and we are looking for contestants to compete Latin style on May 5! Yes! Cinco de MIRO is on Cinco de Mayo this year and its our 5th Annual Cinco! Journeys South moves public art “off the wall” and invites you to examine the richly layered and evolving immigrant histories of South Philadelphia through four unique interactive community-based public art projects and free public tours that celebrate the stories of immigrants and their descendants—both long-time and new residents—to South Philadelphia.
