Upon returning from India in the early 70’s where she studied eastern philosophies and classical Indian dance, Priya began working in a savings and loan in Los Angeles, California, leaving after 10 years as a marketing officer for the company. She developed corporate and branch marketing budgets, created marketing strategies, trained branch and management personnel to execute special promotions and spearheaded numerous projects involving new and remodeled branch offices and corporate mergers. She left California, traveling east to Philadelphia to start a family. During that time she also co-founded a national marketing company that offered low cost life insurance. She created and managed the underwriting department, developed all the company internal systems and policies, trained employees and designed company collateral material. She left the company after 15 years to become the business manager of a ballet studio in Bucks County where she is and has been for the past 7 years. She handles all aspects of the business from financial to marketing and advertising, including producing the annual recital and interim dance performances. Priya served on the board of a non-profit dance company until she was hired as their general manager. Her work included producing the company’s annual performance, co-chairing fundraising activities and coordinating outside bookings and engagements. In addition to her dance work, she has a small consulting business which assists with the bookkeeping of small non-profit organizations.
